Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores in debut matches for Deportivo

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made a successful return to Spanish football after signing a contract with Deportivo de la Coruña. The 37-year-old Gabonese striker signed a deal through June 2028 following his departure from Olympique Marseille.

Despite criticisms regarding his age, Aubameyang has demonstrated immediate impact by scoring in each of his first two league appearances this season, netting goals against Elche and Malaga.

Deportivo's sporting director, Fernando Soriano, defended the signing, stating that the decision was based on more than just the player's reputation. Soriano emphasized that the club sought experienced players to address specific deficiencies, noting that Aubameyang's physical condition, commitment, and hunger for success impressed the management.
