Alpine F1 sees mixed results at Monza after Gasly's pole

Alpine F1 experienced a weekend of highs and lows at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Pierre Gasly secured a sensational first career pole position during qualifying, leading the race through the first lap. However, the team's race-day pace could not match the top-tier competitors like McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes. Gasly eventually finished in seventh place, a result he described as a return to reality after the magic of qualifying.

Teammate Franco Colapinto finished ninth, scoring points for the team despite a mid-race error that saw him slide into the gravel. Team advisor Flavio Briatore expressed satisfaction with the overall performance, noting that the team has reduced the gap to rivals like Racing Bulls and demonstrated improved competitiveness. The weekend provided a significant boost to team morale and momentum heading into future races.
