Alpine struggles at Monaco GP as Gasly clinches ninth in qualifying

Pierre Gasly said Alpine's 2026 car was not performing as expected during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, noting a difficult first free‑practice session and the need for further work on brakes and handling. Despite the challenges, Gasly delivered a strong final‑qualifying lap, taking all risks to secure ninth place – the best result for the team among the non‑top squads.

Team‑mate Franco Colapinto also described the car as hard to drive, expressing disappointment after a complicated session and emphasizing the need to understand the car better for the race.
