Pilgrims travel across Poland toward Jasna Góra sanctuary
Numerous religious pilgrimages are currently underway across Poland, with many groups traveling on foot toward the Jasna Góra sanctuary in Częstochowa.
In Opole, the 50th jubilee pilgrimage has reached its destination, where Bishop Andrzej Czaja welcomed the faithful. Participants celebrated the milestone with flowers and balloons, despite facing challenging weather conditions during their journey.
The 163rd Wieluń Pilgrimage is also in progress, with over 450 participants walking under the theme ‘Mary – peace and goodness’ to participate in celebrations on August 25. Similarly, a group of 180 pilgrims from Przedborno is trekking toward the sanctuary, carrying intentions for world peace and reflecting on the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis.
Other active routes include the 44th Tarnów Pilgrimage, which features a significant number of children and young people. These groups often utilize specialized strollers to navigate difficult terrain and receive support from organizers through gifts and safety gear.
