Jasna Góra receives thousands of pilgrims for summer religious processions

Thousands of pilgrims have arrived at the Jasna Góra sanctuary in Poland for various religious processions, marking a peak in the summer pilgrimage season. Data indicates a significant turnout, with over 71,000 people participating in walking pilgrimages and thousands more via bicycle, running, and other methods since April.

Notable groups include the 48th Radom walking pilgrimage, the 46th Krakow pilgrimage, and the 315th Warsaw pilgrimage. Additionally, the Latin Tradition Pilgrimage from Warsaw completed a 300-kilometer journey, characterized by its penitential nature and traditional Tridentine Mass. Various regional groups, such as those from Tarnów and Przasnysz, are also actively making their way to the shrine.

Religious leaders, including Archbishop Wacław Depo, have addressed the crowds, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the Assumption of Mary. In other regions, such as Ćmielów, local communities celebrated the 700th anniversary of their parish with ceremonies led by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz. Many local parishes are also observing August as a month of sobriety and preparing for upcoming religious anniversaries.
