Pinamar residents protest winter enduro race on public beaches
Residents and environmental organizations in Pinamar held a protest on Saturday, August 22, to oppose the setup of the 'Enduro de Invierno 2026' circuit on public beaches. Under the slogan 'Environmental damage: the public beach is not a circuit,' demonstrators gathered at Cocodrilo beach to voice concerns regarding the ecological impact of motorcycle and quad bike competitions.
Opposition council members have alleged that construction work, including the use of mechanical shovels and soil movement between El Pájaro and Rada Beach, began without complete environmental impact studies or in violation of coastal protection ordinances.
The Pinamar Municipality and the organizing company, EDV Entertainment, defended the event, stating it was approved by the City Council and possesses environmental impact reports. Organizers maintain that the impact on the beach is temporary and have promised to dismantle the track and restore the area to its original state within 72 hours after the event, which is scheduled for August 29 and 30.
