Pingtung promotes tourism through cycling season and orienteering events
Pingtung County is launching new tourism and outdoor activities to promote local culture and natural landscapes. The third season of the ‘2026 Pingtung Cycling Tourism Season’ features the ‘Green Line – Mountain Green Corridor 2’ route. This 11.6-kilometer path, designed for electric-assist bicycles, connects the Shuimen Transfer Station with various sites, including the Longwen Stone Museum, the Taiwan Indigenous Peoples Cultural Park, and the Shanchuan Liuli Suspension Bridge.
The cycling route emphasizes indigenous culture and ecological experiences, offering participants opportunities to taste local cuisine at the Majia Granary and learn about migratory bird patterns at the Linari Visitor Center. Additionally, the county is hosting the ‘Pingtung Wind Festival’ featuring an orienteering race in Mudan Township on October 24. This event encourages participants to use professional maps and compasses to navigate the areas around the Shimen Ancient Battlefield and Mudan Reservoir, blending physical challenge with geographical exploration.
