Proxima Dea remains unbeaten with Gloaming Stakes win

The undefeated filly Proxima Dea secured her fourth consecutive victory with a win in the Group 3 $500,000 Gloaming Stakes at Rosehill. Ridden by Zac Lloyd and trained by David Payne, the $4 favourite won by a short neck over Wonka, with Scarole finishing a short half-head behind in third.

Trainer David Payne praised the filly’s determination, noting her ability to fight through a difficult, slowly run race. Following this performance, Payne announced plans to target the Group 1 $2 million Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick on October 24, believing the increased distance will suit her capabilities.
