Pink October: Free mammography screenings offered to women in Poland

As part of Pink October, breast cancer awareness month, free mammography screenings are being made available to women in Poland. In Sosnowiec, the Designer Outlet is hosting sessions to provide these examinations to local residents.

Eligible women between the ages of 45 and 74 who have not had a mammogram in the last two years can access these screenings free of charge and without a referral. The program is funded by the National Health Fund (NFZ).

Health experts emphasize the importance of early detection, noting that Poland has one of the highest mortality rates from breast cancer in the European Union, often due to late diagnoses. Mobile mammography units (mammobuses) are being deployed across various locations to increase accessibility. Registration can be completed online or via telephone.
