Pinkpop Festival endures record heat while showcasing diverse food offerings

The 55th edition of the Pinkpop music festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, recorded an all‑time high temperature of 34 °C on 19 June, with some apps indicating 37 °C. Attendees crowded every available shade, prompting organizers to consider additional cooling measures for future events.

The festival featured a mix of acts, including a headline performance by The Cure, a set by Idles, and appearances by Alessi Rose, Suzan & Freek and Twenty One Pilots. The event also offered a wide range of food options, with more than 100 food trucks serving everything from poke bowls and smoked barbecue to local Limburg specialties such as zoervleisj fries and traditional vlaai.

The guide highlighted affordable, healthy and vegetarian choices, noting popular items like the Pinkpop‑branded fries (€ 4.95) and the RotDog hot‑dog (€ 11.25). Organisers noted that the expanding festival layout and extreme heat will require further planning to keep visitors comfortable.
