PIO Fund holds forum for pensioners in Užice

The Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO Fund) held a forum in Užice, attended by approximately 250 pensioners. During the meeting, PIO Fund Director Relja Ognjenović announced that preparations are complete for the disbursement of state financial aid, scheduled for September 14. This assistance will be available to pensioners via bank accounts as well as through Serbian Post for those who receive payments in cash.

Ognjenović noted that there are roughly 20,500 pensioners in the Užice area. He highlighted that the average pension in the region has grown significantly from approximately 25,700 dinars in 2012 to between 62,000 and 65,000 dinars today.

Local officials, including Užice Deputy Mayor Rajko Radosavljević, emphasized the importance of direct dialogue with elderly citizens to address their concerns and improve their quality of life. Andreja Savić, President of the Alliance of Pensioners of Serbia, also participated, noting that local pensions remain above the national average.
