Piotr Osuch wins mayoral race in Koźmin Wielkopolski
Following the death of long‑time mayor Maciej Bratborski, the municipality of Koźmin Wielkopolski held a by‑election on 14 June 2026 to choose a new mayor. Two local councilors, Piotr Osuch and Grzegorz Król, contested the race. Osuch, a resident of Koźmin Wielkopolski, secured 4,513 votes (94.65 % of the 4,768 valid ballots), while Król, who lives in the neighboring gmina Rozdrażew, received 255 votes (5.35 %). The margin of 4,258 votes marked one of the most decisive outcomes in recent regional elections. Osuch, born on the day of the vote (14 June 1979), now holds a strong mandate to oversee municipal development, investments and daily administration. Official results and turnout figures will be confirmed by the State Electoral Commission.
