Piotrkowska Pilgrimage Commences with 100‑km March to Jasna Góra
Pilgrims from Piotrków Trybunalski launched the 157th Piotrkowska walking pilgrimage on 11 July, setting out on a four‑day route covering more than 100 kilometres to the Jasna Góra sanctuary in Częstochowa. The journey began after a solemn mass in the Basilica of St. James the Apostle and featured participants of all ages divided into three traditional colour‑coded groups. The itinerary includes daily masses and a concluding service in Piotrków on 17 July.
Organisers emphasized the pilgrimage’s spiritual purpose, inviting those unable to walk to join through prayer. The event follows a long‑standing tradition under the theme “Mother of the Faithful People.”
