Piraeus Port Hits Full Capacity Amid Summer Holiday Surge

Thousands of travelers are flocking to the Piraeus port in Greece as the summer holiday season peaks. Early morning queues of cars loaded with luggage stretch to the ferry terminals, and ships bound for popular island destinations such as the Cyclades and Skopelos are reported to be operating at or near 100% occupancy.

The port authority urges passengers to arrive at least one hour before scheduled departures to avoid delays. High temperatures are not deterring both domestic holidaymakers and foreign visitors, who cite the chance to enjoy Greek beaches, cuisine and hospitality as key motivations for their trips.
