Pisa and Cavour launch major urban renewal projects in Italy
Pisa completed the renovation of Piazza Manin, a key access point to the UNESCO‑listed Duomo. The €5.8 million project, including €2.1 million from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), created a new monumental entrance and was inaugurated by Mayor Michele Conti, who said it was “a worthy renewal for our city and its operators.”
In the town of Cavour, Mayor Sergio Paschetta reported progress on a new “Casa di Comunità‑Centro Servizi Sanitari” and other urban works. The community centre now offers extended clinic hours, a geriatrician, increased blood‑draw days, and upcoming cardiology and pulmonology services. Restoration of municipal buildings, a new roundabout, and a waste‑monitoring system are also underway.
