Pisa hosts 21st Festival del Viaggio focused on food and culture
The 21st edition of the Festival del Viaggio will be held at Palazzo Blu in Pisa from September 24 to 27. Following the recent UNESCO recognition of Italian cuisine, this year’s program focuses on food as a central element of cultural discovery and travel.
The event features a diverse lineup, including Maddalena Fossati Dondero, director of La Cucina Italiana, discussing the UNESCO designation, and nutritionist Ciro Vestita addressing the relationship between diet and health. The festival will also host various chefs and culinary figures, such as international pastry chef Loretta Fanella and local gelato maker Gianfrancesco Cutelli.
In addition to culinary discussions, the festival includes cultural performances, such as the Cucurbita Sapiens Orchestra and themed theatrical comedies, alongside evening tastings for participants.
