Pisa launches unified museum ticket, the Pisa Card

The municipal council of Pisa approved a convention to create the “Pisa Card” – a single ticket that gives access to all paid museums and monuments in the city. The initiative is part of the city’s Tourist Development Plan and aims to improve Pisa’s competitiveness as a destination, attract more visitors, balance visitor flows among sites and extend the average stay of tourists, generating economic benefits for the local tourism sector.

The card will be issued electronically and on paper, with a validity of one week for tourists and one year for residents. The signing of the agreement is scheduled for September and involves partners such as Fondazione Palazzo Blu, Musei Nazionali di Pisa, the university museum system, Coopculture (which manages the medieval walls), Pisamo srl and Federalberghi Pisa for monitoring and promotion. Tourism assessor Paolo Pesciatini said the card is “the ideal tool for integrated promotion of Pisa’s museum system” and thanked all participants for the result.
