Pisa unified museum and monument card launch

In August 2026, the municipal council of Pisa approved the creation of the ‘Pisa Card’, a unified ticket designed to provide access to all paid museums and monuments in the city. Part of the city’s Tourist Development Plan, the initiative aims to increase competitiveness, balance visitor flows, and extend tourist stays.

By September 2026, the ‘Pisa Card musei e monumenti’ was officially launched. Priced at 24 euros, the electronic pass provides entry to various sites, including Palazzo Blu, the Medieval Walls, the Museum of Ancient Ships, the National Museums of Palazzo Reale and San Matteo, the Certosa di Calci, the Botanical Garden and Museum, the Edda Bresciani Egyptological Collections, and the Museum of Graphics. Notably, the card does not include paid monuments within the Piazza dei Miracoli complex.

The card is valid for one week for tourists and one year for residents. Access is managed via QR code validation at each site. To promote sustainable mobility, the pass includes one hour of free use of the Ciclopi bicycle service, which can be paused during museum visits. The launch is a collaborative project involving the Municipality of Pisa, the Destination Management Organization (DMO), various cultural institutions, universities, and local operators. Mayor Michele Conti described the launch as a “historic day” for the city’s tourism and museum system, aiming to encourage visitors to explore areas beyond the most famous landmarks.
