Timișoara stadium construction unblocked by Romanian Government

The Romanian Government has unblocked the construction of the new Dan Păltinișanu Stadium in Timișoara. According to Timiș County Council President Alfred Simonis, the project can now proceed with the National Investment Company signing the design and execution contract with the winning association.

The financing model requires the Timiș County Council to cover costs through the end of 2027, with the council committing 126 million lei for the initial phase. The remaining costs, estimated up to 603 million lei, will be supported by the National Investment Company starting in 2028. The new 32,000-seat arena will be built on the site of the former stadium.

In other regional developments, the Bucharest City Hall is modernizing the sewage and water networks near Gara de Nord, replacing infrastructure that is nearly a century old. Additionally, urban regeneration continues in Timișoara's Piața Traian, and Sector 3 in Bucharest is relocating its administrative headquarters to Hala Laminor.
