Pittsburgh celebrates third annual Oktoberfest as Prostburgh
The third annual Oktoberfest Pittsburgh, known this year as ‘Prostburgh’, has opened in Market Square. The event commenced with a ceremonial keg tapping involving Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato and Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor.
Festivities include live German music, stein-holding competitions, and a Biergarten offering Bavarian-inspired food alongside local and imported German draft beers. The celebration features a Ferris wheel, carnival-style games, and a snack tent located on the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Local craft selections include Brew Gentlemen’s Gold Oktoberfest Märzen, while imported options include selections from Weihenstephaner, a Bavarian brewery operating since 1040. The festival is scheduled to continue through October 11.
