Pixbet platforms blocked nationwide in Brazil following judicial order
A court in Paraíba, Brazil, has ordered a nationwide block on all betting platforms operated by Pixbet, including GanheiBet and Bet da Sorte. The decision follows the company's failure to comply with a previous judicial order requiring the implementation of effective mechanisms to prevent children and adolescents from accessing betting services.
In addition to the platform block, the company has been fined R$ 4.7 million for 47 days of non-compliance with judicial mandates. The Ministry of Finance's Secretariat of Prizes and Betting reported that Pixbet failed to send mandatory files to the official betting management system (Sigap) since receiving its operating authorization, which hindered regulatory oversight and minor protection efforts.
The court has also ordered a technical forensic audit of Pixbet's systems, source codes, and databases to evaluate the effectiveness of its biometric, facial recognition, and age verification tools. A request to freeze up to R$ 1 billion in company assets is currently pending analysis, with the Public Ministry of Paraíba set to provide its input within ten days.
