Piyush Goyal urges US business leaders to boost investment in India

After a successful trip to Canada, Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal traveled to New York where he met top U.S. business executives, including Mastercard CEO Michael Miebach, Warburg Pincus chairman Chip Kay, Morgan Stanley chairman and CEO Ted Pick, and the co‑founder of Manel Pharmaceuticals Chintu Patel. The discussions focused on expanding Indian investment opportunities in digital commerce, digital security, next‑generation payment solutions and the pharmaceutical sector, and on strengthening India‑U.S. trade, innovation and supply‑chain ties.

The round‑table, organized by the Indian Consulate and the US‑India Strategic Partnership Forum, gathered more than 50 senior business and industry leaders. Goyal highlighted India’s strong growth trajectory, a reform‑driven business environment and the government’s commitment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attract long‑term foreign capital.
