PKB Boosts Child‑Friendly Pesantren Standards at Malang Forum

On 2 August 2026, the Secretary‑General of Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB), Hasanuddin Wahid (known as Cak Udin), led a Halaqah Pesantren Ramah Anak together with hundreds of pesantren caretakers at the Hotel Aria Gajayana in Malang, East Java. The gathering, co‑hosted by the Forum Komunikasi Pesantren Malang Raya (FKPMR), aimed to develop and strengthen Standard Operating Procedures for preventing, detecting and handling bullying and sexual abuse in pesantren.

Cak Udin said the initiative follows the Forum Percepatan Transformasi Pesantren (FPTP) launched by PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar and is part of a nationwide program that has previously been held in Yogyakarta, Makassar, West Java and Palembang. He emphasized that isolated cases of abuse are the work of individuals, not the institutions, and that pesantren should remain safe, humane environments that uphold Islamic values.
