PKP Intercity announces ticket discounts and addresses service fee changes
PKP Intercity is implementing significant ticket price reductions to encourage passengers to switch from cars to rail. Between September 16 and 21, tickets will be discounted by 35 percent, with discounts reaching up to 56 percent starting September 22. As part of European Mobility Week, the carrier is also offering bicycle transport for a symbolic fee of one zloty.
In a separate development regarding service fees, PKP Intercity has addressed recent price adjustments for bicycles, large luggage, and pets. The company stated that the new flat rate of 11.90 PLN for these services was determined based on market analysis, demand, and comparisons with European carriers. The Ministry of Infrastructure noted that the specific calculations remain a trade secret. While these rates are higher than those of some other Polish regional operators, the company maintains that the fees had remained largely unchanged for years.
