PKP Intercity extends investigation into Pendolino incident

PKP Intercity has announced an extension of its internal investigation regarding an incident that occurred on October 20 aboard a Pendolino train traveling from Warsaw to Wrocław. The investigation follows allegations that the company’s executive director for commercial affairs physically assaulted the train manager and used profanity toward a conductor and a WARS employee.

The incident forced the train to stop, requiring approximately 400 passengers to transfer to other services. While video footage of the event was shown to journalists during a press conference, the company noted that the footage does not clearly show aggressive behavior.

Spokesperson Joanna Osińska stated that the investigation remains ongoing as key witnesses have not yet provided statements; the train manager is currently on medical leave, and the conductor is on vacation. No disciplinary consequences have been issued to date, and the company has issued further apologies to the affected passengers.
