PKP Intercity raises extra-service fees and limits WiFi on short routes

PKP Intercity will implement a new tariff for extra services on long‑distance trains starting 23 July 2026. The revised pricing increases charges for passengers travelling with larger luggage, bicycles or dogs, while some unified rates make travel cheaper for other customers.

The operator also confirmed that Wi‑Fi will not be introduced on short‑distance, agglomeration trains. Around 1,350 PKP Intercity carriages already offer Wi‑Fi, but the company argues that the short journey times, frequent passenger turnover and the estimated cost of about 220,000 zł per wagon make the service unnecessary for those routes.
