Planned Parenthood launches $600,000 ad campaign against Senator Susan Collins

Planned Parenthood has launched a $600,000 attack ad campaign targeting incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins in Maine. This represents the largest investment by the organization’s political action committee for the current electoral cycle.

The advertisements primarily criticize Collins for her 2018 vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, a decision linked to the subsequent overturning of Roe v. Wade. One ad features a former supporter expressing regret over her previous vote for Collins.

Democratic opponent Troy Jackson has also criticized the Senator, citing her vote for Kavanaugh alongside other policy stances regarding Medicaid and gas prices. A spokesperson for the Collins campaign dismissed the ad buy, accusing Planned Parenthood of prioritizing Democratic elections over specific issues.
