Planned Power Outage Hits Chania Region of Crete
Electricity distributors in Crete have scheduled planned interruptions to the power grid in the Chania area from 27 July to 1 August 2026. The outages will affect multiple neighbourhoods, including Nteres, Xamoudochori, Perivolia, Barypétro, and the entire Platanias municipality, among others. Each day’s shutdown window runs from 08:00 to either 10:00 or 15:00, depending on the locality.
Residents are warned that the work is essential for network maintenance and that they must avoid approaching exposed cables or equipment, as there is a serious risk of injury. If the technical work finishes earlier than planned, power may be restored before the scheduled end time.
