Valencian Community expands social assistance and housing subsidies

Social welfare programs in the Valencian Community and Castelló are seeing significant administrative updates. The Generalitat Valenciana has granted personal assistance benefits to 1,309 minors and adults to promote autonomy through professional assistants.

In terms of housing, the Entidad Valenciana de Vivienda y Suelo (EVHA) has provided nearly 2 million euros in rent subsidies to 1,955 families in public housing since July 2025. However, recent data shows a decrease in the number of beneficiary families compared to the previous period, with 18.7% fewer households receiving benefits. These subsidies can cover up to 90% of rent costs.

Additionally, the Diputació de Castelló has reinforced its Home Care Program, which serves over 700 users. The institution now covers 90% of the costs for services such as home help, meal delivery, and elderly care, ensuring that users do not have to make direct financial contributions for these proximity services.
