Platanias and Iochalia municipalities announce 2026 summer cultural festivals in Crete and Peloponnese

The municipality of Platanias on Crete launched the 16th "Earth‑Culture‑Tourism" summer festival for 2026. Events include a shadow‑theatre performance of “Karagiozis and the Hotel of Ghosts” by Nikos Blazakis, a cartoon screening of “Icarus and Daedalus”, and the “Full Moon of July” music concert held at the Saint John the Hermit cave in Marathokefala. All activities are free and are organized jointly with the municipal public‑interest enterprise and the Region of Crete.

The municipality of Iochalia in the Peloponnese released its full summer programme running from 23 July to 28 August 2026. The schedule features a children’s astronomy night, an agricultural festival dedicated to the “Man of the Earth”, music evenings, traditional dance festivals, film screenings, theatre performances, and a “Double Festival”. The events are supported by the Region of Peloponnese, the Regional Union of Municipalities, and the Kapetan Vasili & Karmen Constantakopoulos Foundation, with free admission throughout.
