Plateau State Police launch security operations and election warnings

The Plateau State Police Command has initiated a security operation codenamed ‘Operation Baa Wurin Ta’adanci’ (No Place for Terrorism) to target criminal elements hiding in the state’s hinterlands and rocky terrain. Commissioner of Police Ayodeji Faniyan stated the mission aims to deny criminals safe havens used to launch attacks on residents. The operation will extend to border communities and involve collaboration with neighboring state commands to track suspects.

In a separate effort to maintain order, the police command has engaged political party leaders and stakeholders to ensure security for future elections. Commissioner Faniyan warned against inflammatory statements, incitement, violence, and vote-buying. To support these efforts, the Inspector-General of Police has approved the deployment of additional personnel and operational assets to the state to address potential security threats during the electoral process.
