Plateau State troops thwart attempted breach of NIPSS institute

Troops working with other security agencies stopped an attempted infiltration of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos South LGA, Plateau State, at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday. Security personnel forced the unidentified suspects to flee into nearby shrubbery and searched the area, but the intruders escaped.

The institute’s perimeter has been reinforced and patrols intensified after the incident, which follows a June 16 attack that killed two soldiers and a police officer. Police commissioner Bassey Ewah ordered additional reinforcements and heightened surveillance around the facility.
