Greek towns of Agyia and Plagia hold two‑day dance and music festivals in June

The Cultural Association of Agyia–Terpsithea is presenting “Idiomorphies,” a two‑day festival on 26‑27 June in the Park of Educational Actions in Plaz, Agyia (Patras). More than fifty members of the association’s dance groups will perform in four sections, accompanied by music composed by Azirr and Thanis Tzima, a folk‑rock band, and a violin solo by Iason Rigas. The programme concludes with a performance by the Fytili Band and a traditional “Agyiopi” cake.

In the nearby town of Plagia, the Cultural Association “Kekropia” is staging its own two‑day cultural event on the same dates. The weekend opens on Friday, 26 June, at the municipal school courtyard with a dance showcase supported by the Women’s Association of Bonitsa and the Philippiada Cultural Association. Traditional ensemble “Ipeirotico Takimi” provides live music. Saturday, 27 June, features the 8th Children’s Festival in the open‑air theatre, bringing together youth dance groups from several local societies to present regional Greek folk dances. Both festivals aim to preserve and promote local cultural heritage.
