Plenitude and German Agency Boost Europe’s EV Charging Infrastructure

The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) operates a public register for publicly accessible electric‑vehicle charging points. Operators must report their infrastructure, which is published on a map and made available via a daily‑updated web‑service interface. As of 1 June 2026 the register lists 152,915 normal chargers and 53,292 fast chargers, providing up to 8.87 GW of combined charging power. The data support monitoring, planning and research by authorities and other stakeholders.

Italian energy group Eni’s subsidiary Plenitude runs a pan‑European charging network called Plenitude On The Road. The company operates roughly 23,000 own charging stations and, through agreements with local operators, offers access to about 600,000 charging points across more than 15 countries. The multilingual app lets users locate, reserve and monitor chargers ranging from 22 kW to 400 kW in real‑time. Plenitude integrates around 6 GW of renewable power and serves 11 million customers, aiming to make cross‑border EV travel seamless.
