PLN extends CSR aid to 17,500 West Java residents and launches 50% electricity discount in Jakarta
State electricity utility PLN's West Java unit reported that its Corporate Social Responsibility and Environment (TJSL) program benefitted 17,554 residents across districts such as Bandung, Depok, Sukabumi, Purwakarta, Kuningan and Pangandaran during the first half of 2026. The initiatives included multimedia equipment for schools, computer labs, support for disabled entrepreneurs through the PowerAble program, and a textile‑waste recycling project, all aligned with six Sustainable Development Goals.
In Jakarta, PLN's distribution unit offered a 50% “add‑on power” discount for single‑phase low‑voltage customers with an initial rating of 450‑500 VA, applicable from 14 to 27 July 2026. Eligible customers had to be registered before 1 July, settle all bills, and make at least one token purchase or bill payment via the PLN Mobile app to receive an e‑voucher, with a limit of four vouchers per account.
Both measures aim to support household budgets and community development as the new academic year begins.
