PLN implements Electrifying Agriculture program in Bekasi

PT PLN (Persero) has implemented its ‘Electrifying Agriculture’ (EA) program to support farmers in Cicau Village, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The initiative provides electricity-based irrigation systems to help maintain agricultural productivity during the dry season.

By replacing fuel-powered pumps with 1,300 VA electrical connections, farmers in the Berkah Sakabeh Farmers Group can irrigate approximately 40 hectares of land more efficiently. This transition has allowed farmers to increase their planting intensity from twice to three times per year, resulting in an estimated annual income increase of approximately Rp12 million per farmer.

Beyond irrigation, the program includes the provision of electric tractors, rice threshing machines, electric lawn mowers, and farmer shelters equipped with electrical panels.
