Romania and Moldova advance regional infrastructure and connectivity projects

Various regional infrastructure and development projects are being implemented across Romania and Moldova. In Moldova, the Sipoteni commune in Călărași district has seen over 16 million lei in investments for sewage, roads, culture, and green energy. Additionally, there are discussions regarding Romania potentially providing potable water to up to 250,000 residents in the Republic of Moldova and the construction of four new bridges to enhance connectivity between the two nations.

In Romania, local administrations are managing significant funds for urban and educational improvements. Bocșa is pursuing projects in education and culture through European funds, while Ploiești is redirecting a 69 million lei credit toward school renovations, sports facilities, and energy efficiency. In Bârlad, the local administration is reallocating 5 million lei from an existing credit to ensure the completion of urban mobility and energy efficiency projects. On the transport front, the Adjud–Bacău section of the A7 motorway is projected to open by August 2026, potentially becoming one of the longest single-day highway inaugurations in the country.
