Plovdiv father and infant attacked by e‑scooter rider near Grebna base

On a Tuesday evening at about 18:30, a family walking along the pedestrian lane by the Grebna sports base in Plovdiv was struck by a group of teenagers riding electric scooters. The scooters were travelling at an estimated 50–60 km/h, far above the 20 km/h limit for the zone. Yordan Nенов, who was pushing a stroller with his three‑month‑old baby, stopped to film the riders and report the danger. While recording, one of the youths knocked him down, hitting him in the ribs. The stroller was jostled but did not overturn, and the baby was unharmed though frightened. The rider fell from his scooter; he was wearing a helmet, which Nенов said likely prevented more serious injuries. After the impact, the teenager shouted profanities and behaved aggressively. Nенов called emergency number 112, but no police patrol arrived. Authorities explained they lacked facial‑recognition software and advised him to obtain a medical certificate before filing a formal complaint. Video of the incident spread on social media, prompting citizens to help identify the perpetrators. Police have since opened an investigation based on the online reports.

"While I was filming, one of the youths just knocked me down," Nенов said.
