Plovdiv hosts International Photo Salon 2026 exhibition

From 15 August to 7 September 2026 the Roman Stadium in Plovdiv will host the open‑air exhibition of the 13th International Photo Salon Plovdiv. More than 140 of the year's top photographs will be displayed, with the opening ceremony and awards scheduled for 15 August at 18:00.

The salon is organised under the patronage of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Hellenic Photographic Society (HPS), the National Photography Academy "Yanka Kiosheva" and with the support of Plovdiv Municipality. An international jury of nine members from Australia, Greece, Italy, and Bulgaria evaluated 4 424 photographs submitted by 289 participants from 41 countries. After a first selection, 1 188 photographs by 239 participants from 38 countries were shortlisted, including 78 Bulgarian authors.

A youth competition attracted entrants from eight nations; 40 photographs by 15 young photographers from six countries were selected, with five receiving individual awards. The prize fund comprised 186 individual and 15 statistical awards. The top honors went to Abhishek Basak of India as the best author, Josef Hinterleitner of Austria as the best foreign author, and a Bulgarian photographer for best national author.
