Plovdiv Municipality allocates nearly 4 million euros for urban parks

The Plovdiv Municipality has allocated nearly 4 million euros within its 2026 capital program for the development of parks, green spaces, irrigation systems, and urban facilities. A significant portion of these funds is directed toward the Trakia district, focusing on two major projects: the construction of Kan Krum Park and the comprehensive renovation of Mother and Child Park.

Construction of the new Kan Krum Park has already commenced using European funds. For the Mother and Child Park, 46,998 euros have been allocated in the 2026 budget specifically to cover the costs of the completed technical project, rather than for immediate construction. The full renovation of this 20-decare space—which includes updating alleys, vegetation, water features, and playgrounds—is expected to cost over 2 million euros and will require additional funding from the 2027 budget, European programs, or state support.

In conjunction with these financial plans, the municipality is organizing a public discussion regarding the 2026 draft budget. The meeting aims to ensure transparency by allowing citizens and local business representatives to review the city's primary financial parameters and submit written recommendations.
