Plovdiv Municipality plans new road connections and infrastructure projects

The Plovdiv Municipality is focusing on designing new road connections and completing existing infrastructure projects within its 2026 budget. Due to the limited timeframe of the budget, which is expected to be voted on in September and active for only three months, the primary goal is to prepare technical designs, construction permits, and documentation for new roads and internal streets.

By 2027, the city aims to have these projects ready to allow for faster public procurement and applications for state funding. Over 770,000 euros have been allocated for road positions in the budget. This includes approximately 300,000 euros for the design of 12 streets, as well as funds for a temporary connection for Macedonia Boulevard and engineering work on Kukush Street.

A key priority is the temporary road connection extending Macedonia Boulevard to Alexander Stamboliyski Boulevard, with 200,000 euros allocated. This project is intended to provide an alternative route for traffic exiting the underpass beneath the Central Station, reducing pressure on the existing local street network. Additionally, 276,000 euros are designated for engineering on Kukush Street to direct traffic toward the Rodopi overpass.
