Plzeň: Unlicensed driver leads police on high-speed BMW chase
A 26-year-old man led police on a high-speed chase through the streets of Plzeň in a BMW. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when municipal police officers noticed the vehicle approaching an intersection at high speed.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle using their lights, the driver accelerated, reaching speeds of approximately 110 km/h. The driver eventually stopped near the Pětatřicátníků gardens. Upon being apprehended, the man initially claimed he was startled, but later admitted he wanted to see if he could outrun the police.
The driver, who does not possess a valid driver's license, was traveling with two passengers and two dogs. While breathalyzer and drug tests returned negative results, the incident has been referred to administrative authorities for further legal proceedings.
