Plzeň Zoo celebrates first modern birth of white-nosed coati triplets

The Plzeň Zoo has recorded a historic event with the birth of white-nosed coati triplets. This marks the first time in the zoo's modern history that offspring of this species have been successfully raised.

The parent animals arrived at the zoo last year; the male was brought from a zoo in Magdeburg, Germany, and the female from a garden in Vienna, Austria. Currently, the mother is closely protecting the young, making it difficult for keepers to determine their gender. Once the infants become more proficient at climbing, the family will be moved to a new enclosure featuring a large oak tree.
