Plzen and Prague Road Closures Prompt Public Transport Reroutes

In Plzen, the roundabout on Americká street will be closed, leading to temporary detours for trolleybus lines 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17. The changes, which affect routes toward Nová Hospoda, Božkov, Černice, Pařížská and other destinations, are scheduled to remain in place until Sunday 9 August.

In Prague, a section of the Prague Ring Road was closed on 19:08, initiating demolition of two overpasses and a detour that runs from the Zbraslav interchange through the Mrázovka and Strahov tunnels to the Řepy interchange. Skanska is carrying out the work, which was delayed due to unexpected ground conditions. The project, valued at about 207 million CZK, aims to replace the overpasses with new bridges. Officials said, “Během jediné noci provedeme demolici a úklid,” and that the new structures should be completed by the end of the year.
