PM-KISAN 24th installment expected for Indian farmers in October

Over 90 million farmers in India are awaiting the 24th installment of the PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme. Under this central government initiative, eligible farmer families receive an annual financial assistance of ₹6,000, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Sources indicate that the 24th installment is likely to be transferred in October 2026, coinciding with the upcoming festive season of Dussehra and Diwali. While an official government announcement is pending, the timing follows the previous distribution of the 23rd installment in June 2026.

To ensure funds reach only eligible beneficiaries, the government has made e-KYC and land seeding mandatory. Farmers who failed to complete these verification processes during the 23rd installment may receive arrears along with the new installment, potentially resulting in a total transfer of ₹4,000. However, those with pending e-KYC or Aadhaar seeding may face technical holds on their payments.
