Farmers can complete e-KYC through the official portal, a mobile app, or at a Common Service Center (CSC) using OTP-based biometric authentication. Beneficiaries can verify their status via the ‘Know Your Status’ feature on the official PM Kisan website.
Concurrently, authorities are investigating fraud within the program. Officials are using e-KYC and land record synchronization to identify beneficiaries using fraudulent documents or the identities of deceased persons. The government intends to pursue fund recovery and legal action in cases of confirmed forgery. In regions such as Madhya Pradesh, the central scheme is supplemented by the Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana, which can bring total annual assistance to ₹12,000.
