PNL Gorj leadership transition follows Ion Iordache resignation

The leadership of the National Liberal Party (PNL) in Gorj is undergoing a transition following the resignation of Deputy Ion Iordache. Ilie Bolojan is expected to visit Târgu Jiu to meet with local members and discuss the future of the organization.

Several candidates have been mentioned as potential successors to lead the county organization. Speculation includes retired general Ioan Sîrbu, who may resume an interim role, as well as Iulian Popescu, the mayor of Roșia de Amaradia. Other names circulating in local political discussions include Daniel Burlan, Gheorghe Pecingină, and Dan Vîlceanu.

Iulian Popescu, the PNL leader in Târgu Jiu, stated that the central party leadership in Bucharest must clarify its intentions for the Gorj branch. He emphasized the need for a leader who brings new energy and determination to the county, noting that any interim appointment should eventually lead to full elections across all local organizations in Gorj.
