PNRR funds new employment centers in Ragusa and Vittoria, Sicily
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) has financed the acquisition and refurbishment of premises for new Employment Centres in the Sicilian towns of Ragusa and Vittoria. The Ragusa site will cost €1,195,220.87 and the Vittoria centre €870,357.66, with funding coming entirely from regional and national PNRR resources, meaning no direct expense for municipal budgets. The project also includes a €400,000 upgrade of the Modica centre, covering renovation and logistical improvements.
The new facilities will offer modern, digitalised services to job seekers, employers, and workers, aiming to streamline the match between labour demand and supply. Owning the premises is expected to eliminate future rental costs for the municipalities, providing long‑term savings. The initiative was presented by regional labour officials and MP Ignazio Abbate, who highlighted its role in strengthening Sicily’s social infrastructure and boosting local employment opportunities.
