Płock moves forward with 15th citizen budget, 27 projects cleared for vote

The 15th edition of the Płock Citizen Budget (Budżet Obywatelski) is underway. Under Polish law, municipalities must allocate at least 0.5 % of their spending to the budget; last year Płock spent 1 619 181 776.86 zł, earmarking roughly 8 million zł for citizen projects.

A total of 46 proposals were submitted, but only 27 passed the formal verification stage. Projects may not exceed 2 million zł for city‑wide initiatives or 500 thousand zł for neighbourhood projects. The city mayor, Andrzej Nowakowski, announced the results and noted that authors of rejected proposals can appeal until 6 July.

The final list of projects eligible for voting will be published on 20 August, with the voting period scheduled to begin on 15 September.
