Podgorica opposition pushes to oust assembly president and former mayor amid governance dispute

Anđela Mićović, chair of the PES deputies club in the Podgorica City Assembly, accused assembly president Srđan Perić of arbitrary conduct that blocked the appointment of acting directors for the Housing Agency and the KIC. She said Perić excluded ready proposals from the agenda and suggested an initiative to remove him could be launched.

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of the capital city also demanded that former mayor Saša Mujović resign after losing his parliamentary majority. DPS officials argued that without majority support Mujović lacks political legitimacy and urged him to step down to end the ongoing crisis.
